What a great start to the year. We have a group of Senior students that will be entering the SGCNZ UOSWSF ( Shakespeare Festival) to compete against other groups from Marlborough High Schools. They will perform a 5 minute scene which will be directed by senior student Jed Cornelius. Our other seniors are also working hard to bring to the public a comedic take on Shakespeare's plays. Look out for them next term, you never know where they may pop up.
Our scripts for the junior/intermediate production of ALICE (in wonderland) have been ordered and auditions for roles will come in week 3 of term 2. This is a great opportunity for our upcoming actors to have a go at a lead role and develop their performing skills. Alice will be staged later in term 3 and will include all of our junior and intermediate drama students and our choir students. We have already started exploring characters and developing scenes with some stick puppets.
Our screen acting class has been developing their ability to act for a camera, improv scenes and are currently working on commercials. We are hoping to have a screen play written for them to work on and film later on in the year.
